Shivaji Jayanti, the birth anniversary of the legendary Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at our Ashadeep Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya. The event aimed to commemorate the life and achievements of Shivaji Maharaj while promoting awareness and appreciation of Indian culture and history among the students. Mrs. Ashwini Gurav President of Rashtravadi Congress Party, President of Ladies wing Vasai-Virar and Shaksham Foundation organized an activity named Swarajya Saptah which included Rangoli Competition, Speech competition and Essay Writing Competition.

Event Highlights:

  • Inauguration Ceremony:

The event commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by the rendering of Vande Mataram, paying tribute to the spirit of patriotism that Shivaji Maharaj embodied. The college authorities, faculty members, and students gathered to honor the occasion.

  • Guest Lectures and Presentations:

Principal sir delivered insightful lectures on the life, valor, and strategic brilliance of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Ashwini mam delivered a short speech on the birth anniversary of Shivaji maharaj. These lectures provided students with a deeper understanding of Shivaji’s contribution to Indian history and his enduring legacy.

  • Cultural Performances:

To add vibrancy to the event, cultural performances were organized showcasing various aspects of Maratha culture and heritage. Students presented traditional musical performances, and theatrical reenactments depicting pivotal moments from Shivaji Maharaja’s life.

  • Rangoli Competitions:

To engage students actively, rangoli competition was held on topics related to the life and times of Shivaji Maharaj. These competitions not only encouraged research and creative thinking but also facilitated a deeper connection with our cultural heritage. Essay writing and speech competition encouraged students for critical thinking.

  • Prizes and Awards:

Participants and winners of various competitions were felicitated with certificates, trophies, and prizes, acknowledging their efforts and contributions towards making the event a success.
