REPORT ON JOURNALIST DAY CELEBRATION

Ashadeep Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya (B.Ed. College), under the aegis of Mother Velankanni Education Trust, in collaboration with the Vasai Virar Journalist Union, celebrated Journalist Day on 6th January 2025 with great enthusiasm and reverence. The event aimed to honor the pivotal role of journalists in promoting truth, integrity, and democracy.
The program commenced with an invocation and lamp lighting ceremony, followed by the felicitation of dignitaries. The esteemed guests included Mrs. Asha Mathew D’Souza (Chairperson, MVET), MLA Mrs. Sneha Dubey, MLA Mr. Rajan Naik, MP Dr. Hemant Savra, Ex-MLA Mr. Kshitij Thakur, Mr. Raymond Machado, and Mr. Anil Raj Rokade (Chairperson, Vasai Virar Journalist Union).
In her welcome address, Mrs. Asha Mathew D’Souza highlighted the significance of Journalist Day and the responsibility of the media in upholding truth and democratic values. Mr. Anil Raj Rokade delivered the keynote address, focusing on the ethical challenges of journalism in the digital era. Other dignitaries also shared their valuable insights.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Anil Raj Rokade, followed by the National Anthem. The celebration was a grand success, inspiring students and faculty to appreciate the vital role of journalism in building an informed and responsible society.
