Report on International Women’s Day Celebration

I. Introduction

International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8th, is a global event that recognizes the achievements and contributions of women throughout history. In Ashadeep Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya, we took the opportunity to celebrate this significant day with various activities and events. Event started at 10.00 am and ended at 1.00 pm.

II. Planning and Preparation

The planning committee, comprised of teachers and students, worked diligently to organize a meaningful and inclusive celebration. The goal was to raise awareness about gender equality, acknowledge the accomplishments of women, and inspire students to become advocates for women’s rights.

III. Activities and Events

Lamp Lighting:

The day began with a lamp lighting ceremony which was done by our honourable dignitaries. Students and teachers gathered to discuss the importance of gender equality and shared stories of influential women who have made significant contributions to society. Felicitation of women’s guest was done with the bouquet and shawl.

Guest Speaker Session:

We were honoured to have Mrs. Shilpa Perudekar ( Poet, Writer) Mr. Sudhir Chitte ( Playwriter, Actor and Poet ) Mrs. Ashwini Gurav President of Rashtravadi Congress Party, President of Ladies Wing Vasai Virar and Saksham Foundation. They shared insights into the challenges women face and highlighted the importance of empowering women in various sectors through their act of Bai Samzun Ghetana.

Cultural Performances:

Teachers and Students prepared cultural performances, including dance, drama, and music, to celebrate the diversity and strength of women around the world. These performances were showcased during a special afternoon event.

IV. Conclusion

The International Women’s Day celebration at Ashadeep Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya was a resounding success, fostering a sense of unity, awareness, and empowerment among students and staff. The events and activities provided a platform for meaningful discussions and reflections on the importance of gender equality. By instilling these values in our students, we hope to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society in the future.
