REPORT ON DIWALI CELEBRATION

Date- 9th November 2023

INTRODUCTION-

On 9 November 2023, Diwali celebrationwas organized at Ashadeep Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya. Diwali is a festival of lights & symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is the day Lord Rama, his wife Sita Devi and brother Lakshmana return to their homeland after 14 years in exile. The villagers lit a path for Rama, who had defeated the demon king Ravana. The people of Ayodhya lined the streets and their homes with oil wicks in clay lamps to welcomed them. People also celebrate the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi during Diwali. As the goddess of prosperity, wealth and fertility, the romantic Diwali story says that she chose Lord Vishnu, one of Hinduism’s most important deities, to be her husband on the night of Diwali.

We celebrated Diwali Festival in our College with lots of enthusiasm. We decorated it with flags and earthen lamps. There was the cultural programme on this occasion. Students were wearing colorful dresses. Diya making competition was held in which all the students have participated enthusiastically.

Some of the students had also set up stalls for food items. All these items were home-made. There were also a no of placards showing that home-made sweets are better than adulterated sweets of the market.

There was also another big event on this occasion. We had to plant trees to convert this Diwali in to Eco-Friendly-Diwali. We had given these trees names such as Bullets, Sparkles, red chili bomb, flowerpots etc.
